On Imitation

People always copy the wrong things. Most imitation is on the surface level. I’d like to think that I do my best to dig a bit deeper into things. It’s hard to deduce that a sausage comes from a pig if you’ve only got a sausage in front of you. That’s why talking about process is really important. They can take your colors, your forms, and your aesthetic, but they can never take your ideas. (Cue Braveheart.)
